Want Digital TV
-
There are several was of receiving digital TV. One is using your roof top aerial (freeview), the second in using a satellite dish (Freesat or Sky) and the Third is using a cable TV supplier.

- If you want to receive digital TV using your aerial (freeview) to improve picture quality, and receive more channels you will need a digital receiver. The most common form of this is a Set Top Box (STB) which connects to your existing TV and connects to your aerial. You can also get a digital Television which has a digital tuner built in so there is no need for any extra equipment. Most new TV's are all digital ready. You can also get more advanced Set Top Boxes which can record, pause live TV and more.
- To receive freeview channels well and ensure good quality reception your aerial and downlead must be in good condition. There are some areas that officially cannot receive freeview. This is not always the case as by upgrading to a High Gain Digital Aerial the signals can be received, even in poor reception areas.
- Coventry Aerials specialise in achieving digital reception even in known poor reception areas. By fitting high quality equipment and the right aerial our engineers obtain good results on 95% of our installations.
- We can arrange for an engineer to call out and test your current aerial free of charge and advise you of any necessary changes needed to enable you to receive good digital reception.
- If you already have a digital receiver or TV and are experiencing problems such as, missing channels, picture break up or sound distortion then you may benefit from a aerial upgrade. To receive good digital reception you will need at least 60% signal strength (45db) as a rule of thumb. With digital signals the strength of the signal is not the only important factor. It is important that the signal is of good quality, this is measured by the Bit Error Ratio (BER), Carrier to Noise Ratio & (MER).
- The aerials that Coventry Aerials install are specifically designed for optimum digital reception. Most have been bench marked and tested to assure good levels of performance and build quality. We also install a new high quality, CAI approved, low loss downlead with improved screening to all our insulations. Again this makes a difference to your digital reception and helps against interference.
- Coventry Aerials can also supply and setup Freeview boxes if required. Call for Special offers, makes, models and prices.

If good digital reception cannot be achieved using an aerial or an aerial cannot be installed, then Freesat is a good alternative and can be a cheaper option. This uses a small dish to receive the signals and is then connected to your TV via a Freesat Box. Like freeview this involves a one of payment with no monthly bills. Please go to the Freesat page for more information.
